The Ponytail Looks You Need to Know for Spring

Alex Perry hairstylist: Dario Cotroneo for Alterna Caviar.
“Alex and I chose to do a really minimalistic ponytail in line with the top of the eyebrow to get maximum facelift", says hairstylist Dario Cotroneo.

"To create that overconfident hair, first we ironed the hair with Alterna Styling Tonic to give it weight so the ponytail doesn’t fall apart, then we secured the ponytail with hat elastic. Our trick to get that really slick, perfect look was to do two ponytails and then tie them together to create one.  We sectioned off the hair horizontally and we did a ponytail with the bottom half of the hair to secure the hairline, then we did a top ponytail. This allowed us to make the hair nice and smooth. Finally, we tied elastic around both ponytails to bring them together.”

Christopher Esber hairstylist: Frank Apostolopoulos for MoroccanOil

Christopher Esber’s ponies were sleek but not too perfect. Pulled together with fingertips, manes were gelled and flyaways encouraged for a look that contrasted Esber’s structured outfits. Apply MoroccanOil Hydrating Styling Cream and MoroccanOil Luminous Hairspray to achieve this effect.

Kirrily Johnston hairstylist: Renya Xydis for ghd

“The hair was based on Kirrily herself, she always has a fringe and a ponytail", explains Xydis. "This season, she wanted the hair quite architectural and feline. The feline is the tightness and the architecture is the shape of the fringe. I used ghd Miracle Mist to blow-dry into the hair, then added a bit of Fat Hair Lotion to the ponytail and used a ghd Styler to straighten. To finish off, I used ghd’s Ultimate Hairspray.”
